The adaptation of the 80’s cartoon Thundercats was released in Cartoon Network last Friday with its first two episodes. The opinions I have read on the internet are mostly positive. The new series presents old and beloved characters in a new context and with some variations in his personalities. The story follows a different path from the old series, with great variations in situations and background. Within the first two episodes all the main characters are presented and the main conflicts are established. It feels a little fast in some moments, but it’s presented in a nice way so you don’t get lost with who-is-who in the series.
Today I watched the third episode and the feeling of the first two episodes remains the same. The episode itself follows an explicit plot (a little predictable also) focused, in my opinion, on the series main target: a new generation of kids and the nostalgic adults like me.
To said it short: I liked this new series, it feels new with a little nostalgic touch , and it’s going to be in my list of series to watch every week, even though I don’t think it will be top priority.
